The first victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg around 11 p.m., according to Pittsburgh police. He is currently in stable condition, according to police as of Monday morning.
Shortly afterwards, police were alerted to a man calling for help in the area of Island and Preble avenues, Pittsburgh police public information officer Cara Cruz says.
When police arrived, they found a man who "had come up out of the river," Cruz said. The man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, so officers provided aid until paramedics arrived to take him to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to Cruz.
Police are working to determine where the shootings occurred and whether the incidents are related, Cruz says.
